The One Rib to Rule Them All is Now in Davao

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R Tolkien.
Indeed! Tolkien is not mistaken. Not all who wander are lost. From the Queen City of the South, the one rib to rule them all has finally wandered to the Land of Promise.
Lord of the Ribs is a famous joint in Cebu known for their amazing and huge serving of their rack of ribs. Their rack of ribs is smothered with sweet barbecue sauce paired with a selection of curry rice or fries.
Now, it has finally arrived to conquer the palate of every Dabawenyo…and maybe to conquer the palate of Mindanao folks!
Lord of the Ribs is a wordplay or a reference to J.R.R Tolkien’s famous Lord of the Rings. LOTR has lived to its name as it is by far the king of the ribs.
Their rack of ribs is almost half a kilo and is good for sharing. But, if you’re a voracious eater then you can gobble it all alone at your heart’s desire.
If you can’t down one order of their rack of ribs, you can just order the smaller portion meal such as their peri-peri chicken, rib n’ rice and other menus.
How to Get There
Lord of the Ribs is located in the same complex where Business Class is located. If you’re not from Davao, take a cab and tell the driver to head to Business Class in Bricklane Square, Palma Street, Obrero Davao City.
If you want to access the place by taking a jeepney then take a ride with a Bajada route. Let’s put G-mall as your point of reference. Upon spotting G-Mall of Davao, continue riding the same jeepney. Tell the driver to drop you off in front of Calle Cinco.
You will know that your location is right because you will see an establishment selling lamps and lights. From the establishment, walk down the street and you will see a complex in front of a KTV bar. This is where you will see Business Class and a signage of Bricklane Square. Go at the back as Lord of the Ribs is located near the parking lot.
You can also access their location through Guzman Street. With this route, you will be accessing the place through the back of G-Mall. If you’re going to access through Guzman Street, you will pass through San Pedro College and San Pedro Hospital. These are the landmarks to keep you on track.
How Much Will You Spend
Lord of the Ribs isn’t as pricey as it seems. You can order two to three different menus with a budget of Php400-500.
The most expensive meal on their menu is their rack of ribs which costs Php270 but is good for two to three people. You can just order some extra rice and share the meal if you’re on a tight budget.
Their other rice meals costs less than Php200 but is equally delicious, too.
Their Rib N’ Rice costs Php120. It is a plate of smoked pork ribs diced into small pieces, smothered in barbecue sauce and white sauce, and toppled on curry rice.
You can also order their peri-peri chicken at a price of Php140 or if you are on a seafood diet; their seafood bundle at Php150 is your choice.

The Voyager’s Experience
The place is good with a cool and hipster ambience. They made good use of wooden pallets as design.
The place is small, though. As estimated, they can only cater thirty or less people at an hour. So, you better get a table reserved if you want to enjoy your dinner at their place. They usually get packed most of the time.
Their food is delicious but is heavy as their forte is meat.
I must recommend their rack of ribs because it’s good for two to three people. However, you better order some extra rice as their rice serving is small. Better order an extra curry rice because the taste compliments well with the rack of ribs.
Also try their seafood bundle as the white sauce and the (i think) barbecue sauce goes perfectly well with the shrimp, breaded squid and fish.
Their food is delicious but I find they lack the choice of spiciness on their barbecue sauce. I prefer a tinge of spiciness in my food. Fret not, overall, it’s a great restaurant.
You better go there with an empty stomach. Their food will surely add up another layer to your belly! A tip of advice, when you’re going to Lord of the Ribs make sure you buy a beer. It’s great with it.
