The 2018 Book Inventory Challenge

Every new year most of us create a list of resolutions and goals we want to achieve for the year. Some goals are financial in nature such as finding another income stream, losing weight, personal development, career-oriented goals and more.

As for me, I have set a goal to keep track of all the books I will be reading this 2018. I am a wide reader, however, I can’t keep track of the number of books I am reading. Last year, I set a goal to read at least twenty-five books. To reinforce my goal last year, I have created a twitter thread for all the books I will be reading this year. However, I aim to read more than twenty-five books before the year ends.

Also, every end of the month I will be posting on my blog the books I have read so far. Blogging about it every month is part of the goal. In order for me to reinforce the goal until December 2018, I have to create a monthly inventory of the books I have read.

I will write about the book I love and suggest books to read. I will also be soliciting book suggestions.

As I’m blogging this, I have already finished Life of Pi by Yann Martel and am already starting with my second book which is Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.

For the year, I aim to read the following books:

  • Books recommended by a WordPress blogger
  • Two books adapted into a movie
  • A new book series
  • Five personal development books
  • Two Classics
  • Two books about business
  • Stephen King’s books
  • Foreign book
  • A Filipino novel (like Smaller and Smaller Circles, F.H Batacan)
  • Novel with mental illness as a theme
  • A tragic love story
  • A book about family
  • A Young Adult story
  • Three Sci-fi books

Currently, I have the following books in my apartment in line to be read:

  • Hannibal, Thomas Harris
  • Clash of Kings, GRRM (re-read)
  • A Dance with Dragons, GRRM
  • Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell

Do you have any book suggestions? Your recommendations are highly appreciated. Help me reach my goal. Thank you in advance!
